There's a CD coming out in July of this year inspired by the works of Neil Gaiman. It's called Neil Gaiman - Where's Neil When You Need Him?, and is being released on the independent label Dancing Ferret Discs. The first track is "Coraline" by Rasputina; when I saw that, I got all excited. Other contributing artists include Tapping the Vein, Hungry Lucy, Voltaire, Razed in Black, The Cruxshadows, Tori Amos (of course), etc. Should be at least interesting, and I'm very anxious to hear the song by Rasputina. The official release date is July 18, but it'll be available for shipping on July 5.
Neil Gaiman is one of the most wonderful modern authors I've ever had the pleasure of discovering. I love his imagination and story-weaving. Isn't it neat, my favorite band creating a song inspired by one of my favorite writers? And that about Coraline, too.
