I made another Rasputina corset, a size 22. (There were alot of ppl who emailed me for a size 22"). I know it's not the same, but that wouldn't be any fun anyway! Click the pic for the info...

Neil Gaiman tribute CD [26 Apr 2006|06:13pm]

trypanophobic34
I know you've probably already heard about this if you're a member of in_our_bloomers, but...

There's a CD coming out in July of this year inspired by the works of Neil Gaiman. It's called Neil Gaiman - Where's Neil When You Need Him?, and is being released on the independent label Dancing Ferret Discs. The first track is "Coraline" by Rasputina; when I saw that, I got all excited. Other contributing artists include Tapping the Vein, Hungry Lucy, Voltaire, Razed in Black, The Cruxshadows, Tori Amos (of course), etc. Should be at least interesting, and I'm very anxious to hear the song by Rasputina. The official release date is July 18, but it'll be available for shipping on July 5.

Neil Gaiman is one of the most wonderful modern authors I've ever had the pleasure of discovering. I love his imagination and story-weaving. Isn't it neat, my favorite band creating a song inspired by one of my favorite writers? And that about Coraline, too.

The love and the lives of Man and Machine... [09 Nov 2005|08:36pm]

trypanophobic34
I've just seen the music video for "The Olde Headboard" on Rasputina's Myspace page: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=3614653&Mytoken=868991C4-CDCC-C4E4-07DF574CD6DCAB89100300455.

I knew it existed, because there is a detailed description of it on Melly and Porcy's Rasputina Page: http://members.tripod.com/~corset_strings/rasputina/old.htm,
but I wasn't able to view it.

It might have been on Myspace for some little time, but I hadn't noticed it until just now. It was surprisingly well-done; i.e., didn't look as low-budget as one might expect.

I'm doing a portrait of Mr. E. Leon Rauis Rains (the picture from waterstained.com) for art class; if it turns out well, I might send it to Melora, but I don't have much talent.

Good afternoon all. I'm a newbie, but for all intensive purposes you may call me the Alana! I've been hardcore into Rasputina for about a year now, but college has forced me to abandon livejournal to a degree. However, I shall make an exception for Rasputina =)

I currently own eight Rasputina CDs:
The Lost & Found (2nd Edition)
Transylvanian Regurgitations
Cabin Fever
My Fever Broke
Frustration Plantation
How We Quit the Forest
Thanks for the Ether
Cellos and Concubines (live)

And when I go to see them live on the 30th of April, (at the Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI) I'll be picking up another one of their live CDs: A Radical Recital.

The first Rasputina songs that I ever heard were Hunter's Kiss (from the 12 Tales CD) and Leechwife. I was blown away at how creative and unique the sound was. Not to mention, Melora has such a strangely beautiful voice. It was like nothing that I've ever heard before.

I've always been rather fond of Transylvanian Concubine (either the original or the remix). However, I don't think I could label just one song as my favorite. They are all special to me =). And on that note, I will scamper off but I look forward to speaking with you all.

"I carry a secret message that I must give to you, it concerns suspicious, now i'm sure you'll know what to do. . ."

I have only recently gotten "into" Rasputina, but their music is like nothing I've heard before, and I adore them. Therefore, I am thrilled to join this community dedicated to them. My absolute favorite somg by them is "New Zero" from How We Quit The Forest. Not exactly sure what the song is about,( A techno-aquatic werewolf of some sort?) but I love it all the same.

Hello to all! ~Sylvaine

i've joined. Backround? Well, if you insist.

I came to find Rasputina around the time of the '12 Tales' album, if anybody knows of it. Anyways, it opens with 'Hunters Kiss' i'm not sure to this day if it came out shortly after or shortly before 'Cabin Fever' but either way, it was around than that i appeared.

In finding 'Frustration Plantation' i was quite enthralled. Specifically with 'Saline The Salt Lake Queen.'

I will be appearing at The Troubador in West Hollywood on April 12th for the viewing, anybody know when tickets go on sale? Or if anybody is playing with them?

The information would be much appreciated.
